Orm and Zock Overview

Two more races of iUniverse; at least, one race garenteed...

Not all sophonts are so eager to join univeresal society. The are legends and myths of hidden races. Species so seceretive in nature, they manage to hide themselves within the walls of universal civilization. Some may derogatorily reffer to these possible species as 'vermin sophonts'. The scientific communities remain questioning of their existence. They reffer to these races, more professionaly, as 'cryptosapients'. The reasons as to why or how a species could develop such extreame xenophobic values is of hot debate among cryptosophontologists. Perhaps they evolved from a species very low on the food chain, forcing their natural biology and instincts to be as descreate as possible. Or perhaps they require very specific conditions in order to remain stable as a society. Perhaps they are even subject to some sort of lifecycle of delicate procedures. In any case, real or not, the existence of these hidden sophonts remains debatable.
One of the most well known are the orms. Orms have popped up several times in seemingly random locations throughout the universe. Those that have been compromised claim to be a lost or forgoten species of neogen, artificial life. Cryptosophontologists speculate that the few orm individuals that have reveiled themselves are insane members of their race. There may also be dozens more orm revelations which go undocumented. Perhaps people don't take them seriously due to their rather unremarkable appearence.
An orm outwardly resembles a long, furry snake. At the front end is a mass of stiff, yet highly flexible whiskers used in sensing and manipulation. No orm as allowed herself to be disected at death. Indeed, there are no reports of a dead orm at all. Reveiled orms will simply disappear one day, never to be seem again. All orm discovered to date have claimed to be female. Orms are sometimes accompanied by various floating devices, sometimes appearing of biological or mechanical origin. There are theories that these may be part of the orms themselves and act as information gatherers and transmiters. This seem probable, sine it has often been observed that orms seem to be omniscient. Some have even appeared to have high spacetime tech, claiming to be able to grant wishes or summon bad probabilities. Orms, of course, shun all theories of their true identity as being preposterous.

There is no questioning the existence of the zocks, however. Zocks have managed to make a name for themselves as among the most feared and dispised beings in the universe. They must have evolved from a species with very many predators. They combated these dangers by destroying them. As they slowly grew more and more powerful in technology, they began thinking on higher scales. They see everything that does not concern them or their safety has a horrible threat. Modern zocks now live free of any planet or star. They live within large scale, geometric structures with walls kilometers think. The interiors are heavily padded and cushioned. They wear belts connected to a magnetic system which eliminates the threat of falling. Zocks produce food and air through neutrino and neutron gases, transmutating blown-apart rocks from their latest mission of safety into perfectly nutritious and sterile resourses. Most zocks have become androids or machines to eliminate the threat of bacteria. They have opened several of the largest pocket universes in the cosmos within their home galaxy. To a zock, all other life is dangerous and should be destroyed.
Zocks are about four feet tall. They are bipedal tetrapods. Their mouth is on the sole of their right foot, while the anus is on the left one. Their sexual organs are flexible, cartigegous potrusions on their forearms. These are also used in manipulation. Zocks must have very many genders, sine very few of the dozens disected were of the same sex. Fleashly growths extend from their backs which may serve in mating rituals. Zocks store fat in their short necks. The photoreceptors of zocks are located in rows along retractable tendrils at the base of their cephalons. Gaping nostrils are situated high up on either side of the head. Zocks' sensitive ears are jut below the brain case. High at the top of their 'face' is the vocal apparatus. They poccess a microphone-like vocal system, giving them surprisingly loud, gratting voices.
With the nexus open, it is a frightening possibility that the more fanatic zocks can easily sweap through the whole universe, and make everything safe for zockkind. But he neosapiens would never allow this. All major intergalactic wormholes to the Haven Galaxy (the zocks' home) have been either blocked, destroyed, or moved. The neosapiens have even begun to move all neighboring galaxies away from Haven, and after thousands of years the locations are begining to become quite noticably different. Fanatical zock armies, all robots and mindless programmed androids, continue to be a threat. Their battle cry, "UNSAFE", has become something of an iconic symbol of fear.
