Hello to any and all who may be reading this; for those who keep track of things around here, it’s been a while hasn’t it?  I know I haven’t been as active here on DA as much as I’d probably like to be, especially compared to my earlier days here.  Well, like all things, things change for me, and I have been occupied with other pressing matters.  I’m currently attending an art college online, and I’ll be moving to Atlanta come January, 2015.  Obviously, this will take up much of my time.  Now this doesn’t mean I’ll disappear from DA; I know how annoying/disheartening it is when someone just stops posting forever.  I just won’t be overly active for most of the time.

Anyway, while I’m at this, I’d just like to thank everyone who’s ever faved, commented, or even just looked at my art here.  It’s really been something that’s lifted my spirits.  :)  Sorry if I couldn’t show more gratitude by being more interactive here, but again, I’ve got other matters to attend; I do, like I know everyone else must have, have a life outside the great internet after all.  But again, thanks, really.  :)  Also, check out my new website for more of my art!  www.cksepter.com/  It’s still a work in progress, but I’m getting there…

Whew!  Well, now that that’s out of the way, I’d like to update the status of my universe/world-building projects to anyone who’s interested (I’m still surprised it’s any at all, so thanks again!).  As anyone who has known my previous work probably knows, and for anyone who doesn’t, most of my art has portrayed things from a self-made universe I now call the “Nexus.”  However, lately I’ve been thinking of things in a somewhat… different order.  I had several storylines that featured many different themes and concepts, all of which were originally set into the Nexus project by default.  Now though, I think I may have been trying to cram too much into a single setting because that’s just the way I tried to keep things organized for so long; by putting everything together in one big darn mess.  But it’s become more and more apparent to me that the stories themselves are, at their hearts, so different in what I wish to convey that it would be best to put each main one into a universe of its own.  Took a little effort to make myself see them that way, but now that I’ve embraced it, I see that each one opens several unique and fascinating new doors that allow me to experiment; to take my worlds in directions I never thought I’d be able to take them before, each with its own set of rules and defining characteristics.

So, without further adieu, allow me to introduce everyone to...

MY WORLDS:

Beelzedon/World War B:  “In the not-too-distant future, humanity lives in constant fear of kaiju attack after a monster of hellish power and temperament forces its way into our world.  Its presence soon draws out others, and Earth becomes a battleground of terrifying proportions… and we’re caught right in the middle…”

This story will feature a struggle between us puny humans and my favorite type of monsters; kaiju, Japanese for "giant monster/strange beast."  The content will be rather dark and portray the great beasts as formidable and unstoppable forces which we must get used to dealing with.  The titular kaiju is a monster in every sense of the word, and I’ve been looking forward to getting him out there for a while…

Sonodrana:  “Somewhere in the American west, a mighty kaiju is unleashed upon the modern world.  But as other monsters soon surface, this ancient beast comes not to aid our destruction, but to stand against this new threat, proving that not all giant monsters out there should be feared…”

Two separate kaiju stories!?  Well, it’s happened before, so why not?  Anyway, this story will be much lighter than the Beelzedon one, featuring a friendly kaiju who helps defend us puny humans from the prickish ones…  No; he will not fly, not breath fire, not have a shell, and not have been created by a lost civilization.  He is pretty cool, though, and I’d really like to show him off too!

World of Kaiju:  This one’s only half-serious really.  I thought briefly that all kaiju I come up with could all fit in the same universe; but even though I’ve drawn a line between the two main title kaiju, the idea just wouldn’t go away completely!  So I guess this world can be sort of a spoof or spin-off from the two real prominent kaiju worlds of mine.  I plan on posting just one written description of it that will mention all kaiju I’ve come up with thus far, so it’ll also work out as an introductory setting of sorts.

Nexus:  “In the future, Earth’s leaders claim to have created utopia.  Fay, a little girl in fourth grade at one of the countless Core Elementary Schools, doesn’t think so.  There’s not much she’s allowed to do around all the stuffy grownups, but that’s ok.  After all, she can always count on her friend, TH, to stir things up!  Did she mention he’s an alien?  And that there are apparently lots of other aliens?  And that they’re all watching Earth?  And that there are a bunch of bad aliens too?  Well, there are!  TH says he can handle it; he’s a professional after all.  But that doesn’t mean Fay can’t help out too, right?”

This story will revolve around the relationship between a human girl of a future age of Earth, and an alien from outer space.  Sound too fluffy?  Well, I do want it to be kinda cute and lighthearted in most respects, but there will be character development and growth as the series progresses.  Here will be the home of most of my alien races; Touhouls, Geckerills, Lepidapes, Seraphs, Nex, Nath’dye, Rhapelladin, Nameless, Ny, Arcu, Appi Uha… any of those sound familiar?

Seiek:  “Hidden within our world is an ancient land, seeped in primal magic and populated by a strange society of dinosaurs and wayward humans.  In this place of great beauty and danger, civilization and savagery, certain artifacts have the power to grant their owner incredible powers.  These powers, wielded equally between the clans, have ensured a stable, yet delicate balance of power.  Ramie, a packless Mandrake, would rather catch some shut-eye than go looking for wayward troublemakers.  But her sentient sword, Kashi, just wouldn’t leave her alone!  She, with a titular ragtag band of misfits journey across their world to strengthen their own powers and, by extent, keep the peace, sort of.  But there is far more at work here, and it will force Ramie to confront her dark past and unwanted powers…”

Yeah, shoulda seen this coming.  Seiek fans will probably like this… maybe, I think, I don’t know…  Anyway, this story will star one of my oldest characters, and allow me to finally get her a more detailed bio and development down.  I’m still in a whirlwind of creativity with this project, as it’s one of the most attractive (at the moment) to me.  I’ve got some of the basic things set out, and the rest is a fun work-in-progress.  It’s something that’s really a different first for me, so I’m pretty excited about all the directions I could go with this.

Moloch:  “… What have we become…”

One of my darkest concepts yet, and also one of the most puzzling.  The titular villains in these stories will be genetically engineered humans known as “Morlocks”, and yes, they are a homage to H. G. Wells’ original monsters.  This will be my own take on what I hold as one of the most personally terrifying and excellent monsters of all time.  What’s difficult, though, is where exactly to put them.  Except for the kaiju stories, my Morlocks could easily feature as antagonists in all the other stories.  It’s just that I’d like to use them as the main bad guys, and Seiek already has lots of those, and Nexus seems too light to feature them too much.  I guess I could make up a separate setting for them, and I’ve got lots of potential plots in mind, but now I’ll have to make up some more human characters to be the protagonists.  Well, we’ll see how it goes…

And those are my new world-building projects!  I’d really like to know what you think, so please, if you have time, post a comment to this to let me know.  Again, thank you all so much for enjoying my art, and have a nice day!  XD

Don’t forget; evolve and grow.
