Here's a scene from another planet of iUniverse...
The planet Treyo is a spec-sized (earth sized) planet orbiting the double-blue-star Reus/Zaires System. It has no native sophonts, but it has been colonized by the shaan, and more recently by ithoons. It is the fifth planet around its stars, but its not the only one to support life. The fourth planet, Ecar, is a small rocky world home to extremotheromophile bacteria colonies along with a few protist-like kingdoms. The sixth planet, Donoto, is a jovian world where simple, microbic organisms are prolific. Donoto also has a single living moon, Gilos, where life is thusfar mostly composed of algae-like land plants. Gilos is an important farming world for the colonists on Treyo. Treyo has a single moon, Loz, to stabelize its orbit. Treyo itself is a cloud-covered world with an advanced multicellular bioshere. Most of the land is covered in jungle-like habitats. Plants are deep violet to absorb the diffuse suns light through the clouds. The dominent terrestrial life are tripedal "vertebrates". The cephalon is composed of pincer-like jaws concealing the mouthparts. Mouthparts vary from barrel-like grinders found in herbivores, to spear-like tongues found in carnivorous liquivores. Nostrils are located on the cephalon. Photoreceptors never evolved on Treyo. Echolocators have developed, but are very primative and are not of much use in most species. The two main senses animals have foucused on, are hearing and smelling. Heat and electricity are also use by some of the lower organisms, however. Ears are located in the forward dorsal cavity. Microscopic ofactory pits cover the cephalon. Many higher classes spread their various sents with a pipe-like organ located, along with the genitals, in the pelvic reigon. The species pictured above is a pair of small, liquivorous khandi, which are native to the open peat-forests of the weastern continent. They are engaged in an eleborate mating ritual with the male releaseing entoxicating aromas from specilized glands in his neck. With his hook-like genitailia already fully extended, he uses his vestigial leg (now an arm) to stimulate the female as she becomes receptive to his attractive sent.
Note that I just came up with most of that on the spot...
wow these are essentially alien raptors, but how well made they are! It's unbelievable how much I struggle with my alien species, not sure of anything and dismissing everything as implausible and look at you, you just sketch such a wonderful alien landscape with animals and plants as if it was nothing. Wonderful!
Wow, apparently, it's nice to get soft and close when you mate!!! Another example of close encounters between your kind! Anyhow, I like the 2nd beast's pose a lot, it looks like a basilisk or something....
and I myself just came up with a nice biped!!!
You can check it out on Devious Folder 3....as well as putting up a better scan of m,y seismopus
Sophonts having sex....I almost visualized an alien sophont-based on eosapiens-trying sympathy sex on a ....futuristic human evolutionary form...!!! Nothing like in Man After Man-that book's things give me the creeps-and one day, next friday or saturday, I'll put in those two togethewr0....not Isis, this is a parallwel planet...NEPHYTHYS!!!! Another area and solar system, with sapient life!
I think that hollow structure on their chest could be used by the newborns to hold on to their parents using their vestigial forelimb. Both male and female have it, but it's logical if they share young-holding to alternate hunting, or if they have more than one young at a time. Plus, if the youngs were to attach themselves to their parents there, it would probably give them a feeling of security that can be kept as a social bonding behaviour. So grabbing each other there with their vestigial forelimb would be their equivalent of hugging.
But then again you are the inventor and I just can't restrain my scientific training to try and add my own stuff to other's creation, sorry about that ^^. Very cool aliens, neat design.
The theropod look is no coensidense... The original idea I had in mind was basically tripedal dinosaurs mixed with darwinian liquivores (such as arrowtongues). I gave them unique qualities of their own after a while.
Thank You!

this interpretation is new to me, tell you the truth.
i do like it though
